▲ On the 26th, during the SME Convergence On-Site Tour, Han Hee-jun, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs in Gyeonggi Province, Seo Seung-won, Director of the Gyeonggi Regional Office of SMEs, and Yoon Jong-il, CEO of the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Support Center, listened to Kim Jang-hyun, CEO of SH Technology Co., Ltd., explain the core technologies of auto parts.

The tour included key figures such as Seo Seung-won, Director of the Gyeonggi Regional Office of SMEs, Yoon Jong-il, CEO of the Gyeonggi Small and Medium Business Support Center, Lee Kyung-don, Director of the Gyeonggi Regional Office of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency, and Lee Seung-jong, Director of the Gyeonggi Branch of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. Additionally, 31 young job seekers, including university students, participated.

The first stop was SH Technology Co., Ltd., a company specializing in manufacturing auto braking system components, boasting world-class technology. Despite the loud noise of pressing machines making conversation difficult, participants eagerly listened to CEO Kim Jang-hyun's explanations and toured the production lines. The next visit was to Minjin Co., Ltd., a cosmetics container manufacturer, where participants observed the production process of high-quality containers and witnessed the strength of innovative SMEs.

The reactions of the participating students were enthusiastic. They had the opportunity to interview directly with HR managers on-site. University student Seo Kyung-hyun shared, “Visiting the sites has positively changed my perception of SMEs. It was a valuable experience to engage in face-to-face interviews rather than applying online from home.”

The companies were also optimistic. Ki Geun-seo, CEO of Minjin Co., Ltd., expressed, “It was a pleasure to meet enthusiastic and capable young people. I’m considering future meetings with them to explore opportunities further.”

The tour, which began at 10 a.m., covered four companies in southern Gyeonggi Province, including SH Technology Co., Ltd., Minjin Co., Ltd., Seyang Co., Ltd. (a livestock processing company), and C&A Industry Co., Ltd. (an LCD color filter manufacturer). It concluded around 8 p.m. Despite the long day, participants showed no signs of fatigue.

Seo Seung-won, Director of the Gyeonggi Regional Office of SMEs, remarked, “This convergence tour achieved a dual purpose: improving youth perceptions of SMEs and facilitating employment. Additionally, it was a meaningful opportunity to discuss solutions to challenges like export sluggishness due to MERS and difficulties in continuous technological development.”

Han Hee-jun, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs in Gyeonggi Province, stated, “This tour has shown a noticeable shift in how university students view SMEs. Moving forward, SMEs will take the lead in resolving youth unemployment and turning crises into opportunities through communication and collaboration.”
