The Southern Branch of the Gyeonggi SME Convergence Association (hereinafter referred to as the Southern Branch) held an inauguration and farewell ceremony for the Southern Branch President on the 4th floor convention hall of the Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce on the 15th. Attendees included Kang Gu-man, President of the Gyeonggi SME Convergence Association; Kim Kyung-hee, Chairwoman of Hwaseong City Council; Park Tae-kyung, Director of the Hwaseong Civil Economic and Industry Bureau; Yoon In-gyu, Head of the Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of the Small and Medium Business Corporation (hereinafter referred to as SBC); Park Sung-kwon, President of the Hwaseong Chamber of Commerce; and about 150 members.
Outgoing 9th President Jeon Tae-won expressed his gratitude during his farewell speech, saying, "Thanks to the members, I was able to faithfully fulfill my duties as the Southern Branch President and create the strongest Southern Branch within the Gyeonggi Association." He also requested cooperation, stating, "I hope the slogan 'Sharing through Communication and Innovation,' which was the most important initiative during my term, can continue to be realized. Going forward, I hope the new President Kim Jang-hyun will lead the branch to unite all unit associations like one family, pushing and pulling together to make the Southern Branch a cohesive and united entity with active participation from the members."
In his inauguration speech, the newly appointed 10th President Kim Jang-hyun expressed his gratitude to former President Jeon Tae-won, stating, "Thanks to the passionate efforts of former President Jeon, the strongest Southern Branch, with over 270 member companies, was established." He also shared his vision for future operations: "First, we will organize five committees to promote exchanges among similar industries based on innovative convergence among member companies. Second, we will focus on developing new technologies and fostering convergence growth. Third, we will prioritize communication and support to strengthen the resilience of member companies."
Yoon In-gyu, Head of the Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC), delivered a congratulatory speech, stating, "I believe that each and every SME representative who continues to run their businesses even in these challenging times is a true patriot of this country. If there is anything SBC can do to support your activities, we will actively step forward to assist." He also expressed strong agreement with the three new operational plans proposed by the newly appointed President Kim Jang-hyun, promising, "If SBC's assistance is needed in the future, we will actively provide support."
Following the speech, appreciation plaques were awarded to individuals who had contributed, including the auditor, senior vice president, regional unit association presidents, former Secretary-General Lee Jong-gyu, and Policy Standing Committee Chief Park In-ok. Certificates of appointment were then presented to newly appointed key members, including Senior Vice President Lee Soo-hwan, auditors, executives, regional unit association presidents, and others.
